Has anybody looked for a found a source for thin gasket material? I’m looking for .008 gasket material and can’t seem to locate anything. It’s for my 1938 Handitwin driveshaft tube to powerhead.

Certain seed catalogs, etc., have the outer paper covers about the right thickness.

Good old fashioned brown paper grocery bag works good

I remember back in my USCG days. When we had that problem we would go to the com center and grab an old chart and cut the gasket out of that. Then we would wipe it down with grease to water proof it. I also remember and still do sometimes using a ball peen hammer to make the gaskets

How about the front or back cover off The Antique Outboarder magazine?!

Much like Joe B. I use brown paper bags when needed.
Plus how convenient is it to get groceries and re-stock
the gasket material weekly or as needed.

                Respectfully,

That would lean toward sacrilegious, lol

Years ago I cut lots of gaskets out of Corn Flakes boxes.
