            I may have found it 1962? https://endlessboating.com/forums/media/1962-mercury-outboard-brochure-page-12.1176/

Wow that’s a really clean scan of a 1962 Mercury Brochure.

Is there any reason to steer clear of these old Mercs ?
              Are parts still available ?

I think their 4 cylinder models back then were arguably the best in their lineup. the main downside I know of is that you need earplugs to run them – OMCs back then were much quieter.

I would check the compression….I would like to see 115 or better in each hole. If one or more cylinders is found to be noticeably less than the others, it will need a tear down. Anything is possible but you may find it frustrating if you’re used to OMCs.

What if it was run in salt ?
Idk if it was but it is in Florida …

Yeah, if it was run in salt, it is an anchor.
