My friend Mark is about to paint the hood of a 58′ Super Sea Horse and is hoping to find a “rattle Can” color that is a close match to the Gold on the original hood. Any suggestions of a close match in the automotive paint rack?

Holiday bronze is the correct color. I don’t know about off the shelf paint from an auto parts store, but I’ve had good luck with Reprotint paints. Here’s a link:

Actually for the Super Sea Horse you don’t want Holiday Bronze. The Holiday Bronze 1958 is for the standard model motor.

The Super Sea Horse is a Gold/White combo.

Another option for rattle cans if you want here

I have attached a pic of my old SSH/Peterborough Aquaflyer combo

I can attest to the reprotint paint also. I have had good luck with them.
