I am trying to save a 1972 Johnson 9.5 from the scrap heap, again. I already gave it one lease on life, literally saving it from a scrap heap. I spent some time, got it going and took it for a ride. It sounded good, until it dropped a cylinder at WOT, then within a few more seconds, threw a rod through the crank case. I am doing an autopsy on it now, because I don't know yet, why it happened. I was even running 25:1 oil. I was going to part it out, but as I take it apart, I keep thinking, "This thing is still crying to be saved...." So, I am looking for a rebuildable parts motor or power head. I am HOPING to attend the Freezingham, MA meet on the 18th of January. Thanks for reading all this!
