I could not find the Model number #C945-5045 for this outboard. But I believe it is 1946  1.25 Hp.

That is definitely not a 1946 Elgin 1.25hp.   That is a Tecumseh air-cooled powerhead, about 3hp.  It appears to be an Eska motor, although I have only seen one other one with the same midsection as that one has.  I’m putting the vintage to be most likely in the 1960s.  Definitely later than 1940s.  I’m not sure about the decal on the side.  Eska built lots of motors for Sears and Roebuck, but I have never seen an Elgin-badged Eska.

That engine looks a lot like the engine and cowl on the lawnmower my parents had in the late 60s. The size of the cowl and the location of the gas tank cap look really familiar. If the tank is cylindrical that motor is a dead ringer for my childhood lawnmower.

Way cool how many department store retailers used to sell outboards!

The tower says Arrow, a Canadian  manufacturer during the mid-late ’60s.  Looks like a 3-hp Tecumseh powerhead.

I was off.  The Arrow was one model of motors made by Triton, apparently started mid-70s.   The serial no you have is the Sears-Simpson number, you’d need to find the Canadian Sears catalog to ID the year.

And I was off on the size, apparently the Arrow came in 4, 5.5, 7.5 sizes.  Most likely all used  Tecumseh powerheads.
