Have you checked with Dan Gano?

I got a NOS knob for my 1960 Johnson QD from him.

Linda Anthony may still have some parts: linda at nu-z.net

There are also (AOMCI members) Ken Hall & Doug Penn (I forget if either read/post here)

If you have one that is damaged that you can send me, I can make one and 3D print it at no cost. Might not be 100% exact, and won’t be factory, but it would work for a decent while (plastic the printers I use are PLA and ABS, not the best around hydrocarbons, but as long as it doesn’t soak in them there shouldn’t be an issue)

          Let me know.

great offer but what do you think of me molding ( making a cast) the unbroken side of the of the T shaped handle then flipping it over to attach it an époxy hardenned copy of the unbroken part ……

but your offer sounds darn good and I may take you up on it !

If you think it’ll work, go for it. I can always make a 3D printed part later if it doesn’t
Along the lines of what you are talking about, I should be able to 3D print two halves of a mold, then following this video you could use those halves to make an aluminum mold that you could then inject with plastic for a brand new complete piece.

I am not equippped to go to that extent. Let me try a mold to see what happens .

                        Hey crosbyman,

I’m a little leery of sending anyone a PM right now so I’ll ask you through the forum. Did you send me the email about the knob and are your initials J.D. ?

                        Thanks,

                        Steve
