My A-45 seems to be loosing compression in the starboard cylinder even though the release valve is in the closed position, I can both hear it and feel it coming out of the opening in the release valve housing. The valve spring seems to be pulling the valve closed but still leaking compression. Any thoughts or advise as to what to look for before I pull the cylinder?
I pulled the valve assembly, the only carbon was a very small amount on the outside of the valve top. The seating portion of the valve & housing were clean. Everything visually looks good. Gave all a good cleaning reinstalled it, gave it a try, still leaks compression. Nothing shows excessive wear. Am wondering if I could lap the seat as it is aluminum or would it do more damage?
