I know some fuel pumps have actual kits, some can be rebuilt with parts from other kits, some are a pain in the butt to rebuild like the small square black ones. How about this one? Does it have a kit? It’s from ’65/’66 6 HP Johnson.

Yes, It can be rebuilt. Yes they can be a pain to do. The plastic sections, ( Layers) can be warped, that is often a problem. You can face them with a flat surface and 220 grit. The GLM Brand kits come with those parts new. On the other hand, if you shop around, you can maybe buy a new one for $50. I have a lot of spare parts from the first 4 or 5 I tried to rebuild 😆 😆

That was from the days when they made good pumps with real check valves. Very simple and reliable. Common problem is people bust the small hose nipple off, but yours is intact. Hoo-ray

Ok thanks guys, that’s good to know. It might save me some money from buying a new one.

you can just replace them with the standard OMC square pumps
