      Hey all….

On the old board there was a thread about the "TinyTach" or its equivalents. Guys had posted exact model numbers that would work on 2-stroke outboards with varying numbers of cylinders (I would want adjustment from 1-4 cylinders…)……along with sources to buy one cheap.

Wher can I get such a thing….cheap and easy? What model number works for you?

      Thanks!

eBay and Amazon are as good as anywhere to shop for them as the prices vary quite a bit.

Wedgie bought a few of these similar units and gave me one but I haven’t tried it out yet. These cheaper ones seem to have similar functions as the Tiny Tach.

Anybody have any experience with the laser tacks? No wires. Put a small piece of tape on the flywheel and aim the thing. It sounds too good to be true.

Yeah, I have one here I’ve used for setting up the blower fan on the furnace. It has a variable speed pulley so I used it to get the maximum RPM out of the blower fan. Haven’t tried it on a motor yet.

I bought a cheap one off Amazon. I used it to check the WOT on a John Deere lawn tractor that I fixed for my brother in law. Worked OK for that, and the price was right.

Well the laser one do seem to have more uses and simpler to use. Cheaper too I think. Maybe time to get one.
