Found a 1954 alumacraft model A rated for up to 12 hp. Are these boats fairly stable and do they plane easily? Thanks!

I have a 59 AL, 14′ Alumacraft. It scoots along and planes real nice with a Johnson QD 10 hp on it,
        and seems plenty stable.
I had a 15 hp Evinrude on it, but it was a little on the scary side then, lol.

        Prepare to be boarded!

Ok, here is the big question. Guy is asking 2000 for the model a boat, trailer, and Johnson motor with gas tank. That is way too much $ for me to spend. What would be a fair price for this set up?

I paid $200 for my Model A6 and just $100 for my Model E…Me thinks he is a bit overpriced

Watch craigs list, there are a lot of smaller boats that show up, at least here in NJ they do. That price sounds high with out seeing it. Where are you located.

I’m in Missouri. Where everyone thinks an old boat and motor is worth a fortune!!

The boat is in spectacular shape. Trailer doesn’t match. About 2-3′ short of boat. Motor and tank are just a 7.5 Johnson. Fair shape. Not run for years.

Again without seeing it, that sounds way to short, sometimes things can be adjusted. But with a motor hanging out back there, a few inches is the most that I let a boat overhang the trailer bunks.
