Hello all. I have been restoring my Scott Atwater 3845 1954 10 hp. Everything is going great, except for paint selection. I have 2 attachments I will post that show different paints for different years. These 2 websites have me confused as I do not know which paint to buy from REPROTINT. 1953-1956 on REPROTINT shows “loch lomond green “, while 2nd attachment from NYMARINE shows 1954 to be “metallic green”. This is messing me up and I am clueless. Any ideas guys? Thanks so much.

Edit: The darker color “loch lomond green”, I believe, belongs to the older scott models such as the shift models for example the 1-12 shift. The lighter color “metallic green” I believe belongs to the bail-a matic year models.

I have been looking for the correct paint for the 1947 Scott Atwater model 473. It is not “Loch Lomond Green”….

As far as I can tell….that color does not appear on the charts posted here above.

Seakaye, I agree on that for that 473. It is tough. I hope someone would chime in sometime soon so that I can purchase my paint. Might have to sacrifice 20 beans for a rattle can from reprotint to find out the right color. Scotts are real attractive once completed!

If all else fails, try calling Barry Ferrari at Reprotint paint and Peter McDowell at NY Marine and see if they can clarify their respective paint colors for you. I have found both of these gentlemen to be very helpful whenever I have had questions.

Did anyone find out the right colors for the 1955 Bail O Matic?

I think if nobody here knows, and you can’t find somebody that does, use the color you like best. They are both Scott colors, and it’s your motor.

I think my ’56 Gold Top 7.5 looks Loch Lomond but I’m not sure about the ’53 Gold Pennant 10.

Barry passed a couple of years ago, but there’s two different
guys that took over his line of paint.

Yes, Barry passed several months after I posted that note. I was sad to hear of his passing – I had talked to him a few times and he was always very helpful on a couple of projects I was working on.

Barry passed away about 2 years ago.
