gentlemen i’ve come into a model hd 25 and have just started on it,,, with the recoil there is a washer part nr. 41-192 by the parts book I cannot tell what type washer this is and what material its made of,,,any help would be appreciated,,,thank you,,
frankr,,, sorry to bother again,, i’ve made the springs and installed and flippers seem to extend and retract , when assembled it to flywheel and pulled cord nothing engages,, here comes the question.. what engages the flippers when the rope is pulled am I missing a part on this ,, thank for any advise or pics again,,,,
The short end of the pawls (flippers–I like that) should be sticking outward when all is at rest. The springs should hold them out. When the motor is running, the longer ends of the pawls are flung outward by centrifugal force, working against the springs pressure. That retracts the short ends, disengaging the starter.
Um, the other item is the “ratchet” cage thingy on the bottom of the recoil rope pulley. I don’t remember that as being a loose part that can be lost—or is it?
