I don’t normally post videos in this forum, but this motor is just too special not to share. The Waterman rowboat motor, nicknamed the Coughing Sarah, is one of the earliest production outboards. The company was formed in 1906 predating, Evinrude by three years.

June 14, 2020 at 8:42 am #205673Hard to believe it actually runs! I hope they came with an extra crank handle,
as I could see dropping that in the lake the first day, lol.
Perhaps the next time run you can don your vintage attire!
Thanks for posting!Prepare to be boarded!
June 14, 2020 at 9:11 am #205674It’s funny you say that. We lost the crank in the lake. That is why the boating section is so short.

June 24, 2020 at 9:47 pm #206633Very nice to see the really old iron running on a boat. For those that may have never see the historical marker for the first running of Camron Waterman’s proto outboard … located on the River road , Grosse Isle, Michigan, Just down the Detroit River from Detroit. The second photo is with the last Jack Craib, much missed master collector and ultimate authority on the best of the

June 25, 2020 at 1:04 pm #206667I would definitely go to a meet at Grosse Isle. The Waterman in the video lives nearby. I’m sure Chris would love to run it there.
