      Hi,
I am looking for a Serial number and operating info plate for my Mercury Mark 20. Any ideas where to find one.

It’s usually located right between the transom clamps. Yours appears to be missing. If you remove the cowlings, you’ll find the number stamped into the block/crank case. It’s small and you have to search for it but it’s there. Don’t recall specifically where on that model. Should be 7 digits.

Dave or others will have more specific info.

You could find a decent plate off a junk motor. They’re out there! Good luck!

EDIT: after re-reading your question, it sounds like you know it’s missing. An ad in the classifieds show rustle one up for you.

Thanks, yes I know it’s missing, may have a lead on one.
            Thanks,
