      I just got a 4227 model Evinrude 1937 fisherman.

What color paint do I use to repaint it?
Is the engine block the same color as the rest of the motor?
Where can I get new decals?
Any tips on where I could get a gas tank for it? It has one now, but it’s a little dented.
I just disassembled it & primed it. Now I’m polishing the brass & trying to find the correct paint. Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

Paint color would be Dull Aluminum. Paint and decals are available at North York Marine.

Dixie Hammack at Old Outboard Decals may also have your decal.

I just tried Dixie at “old outboard decals”. Thanks for the tip. They said the decals changed in 1938. They have the 1938, but not the 1937 model.

          So I’m still looking…

Looks like NY Marine also has the decals.
