Good afternoon,
I have been searching for a round, rubber pull start handle for a 1947/48 Gale (and others). Can someone please direct me to where I might obtain a part # and ultimately a source for either NOS or reproduction? Trying to stay with round and not go to a universal “T” style. I’ve attached some pictures and hopefully they came through. Thank you!June 11, 2021 at 1:28 pm #239988Update – I was able to navigate through the Members Only Drop Box documents and found the Goodyear and Hiawatha models I’m working on. The part #’s for the handle and hardware:
Handle: 171-369
Clamp Screw: 133-161
Clamp C’sunk: 102-132
Clamp Tapped:102-133Happy to find the resource and the information archived there will be extremely helpful on this project going forward. I could still use some help getting directed towards a source if someone knows of a supplier. Thank you!
June 11, 2021 at 4:49 pm #240005Looks like they used the same knob as on my Zephyr of the same
era. I’ve never notice this type for sale, but it would be interesting
to find out.Prepare to be boarded!

Thank you for the photo and reference! It provides another search option! Since finding the part number in the archives, I’ve been able to search a couple parts sites. No hits yet but I know more now than when I started the day. I’ll keep looking as it appeared to be a popular/common handle in the day. Thanks again!June 11, 2021 at 9:53 pm #240041

June 11, 2021 at 10:29 pm #240049A piece of oak on a wood lathe would make a nice knob all varnished up!

June 11, 2021 at 10:49 pm #240051Thank you The Boat House, I will check them out and at a minimum, get my name on the list!
June 11, 2021 at 10:53 pm #240052Thank you Buccaneer, I like the suggestion! Maybe a little teak, oak or mahogany would be a signature look!
June 11, 2021 at 11:04 pm #240053Try Doug Penn as he used to have repops and probably has good used ones. His new website is under construction still so you won’t see any displayed.
I’ve bought starter knobs of the Korandas before but don’t know if they still have them.
