      I think read in the old service manual that if you advance the throttle too far it can restrict the recoil. I cant put my finger on the page now of course. the 30 is a armful to pull that is for sure.

      Any tips or suggestions on making this a one man job?

          The auto rewind starter is the same on standard and Electric start models. If the speed control on the tiller is advanced past start, the locking lever (12) will drop down and keep the starter pulley (30) from turning.
