      Does that carb require a little donut shaped gasket around the high speed nozzle in the fuel bowl. If it does and is not present it will allow fuel to bypass the high speed circuit.

      Check the diagram. Just because there wasn’t one in there when you opened the carb doesn’t mean there shouldn’t be one.

      Just a thought.

        I took it over to Steve’s place and he and I messed with it and got her running.

        Spacing of one set of points spread open as it was being set, and we think some grease got on the other set so it wasn’t firing properly. Got everything running smoothly and my brother was very happy with his christmas present.

        As one of my earliest mentors always said, if you think there is a timing issue check your carb, and if you think your carb is the problem check your timing.

            The bad thing was I had to give it away. Steve said it was one of the quietest motors of this style he’d come across. Paint looked like doggy doo, but it ran so smoothly. I wish I had been able to run it on my boat before I gave it to him, see what sort of speed I could have got her up to.
