      OK, that is the “bolt” I thought you were talking about…. But, aren’t there three studs that come up through the front of the powerhead with nuts on them?? Or did OMC change this for awhile, couldn’t see much on the 69 parts list….

        Changed from stud & nut to bolt with the advent of the fiberglass cowling

          OK, well at least I learned something today….Yeah must be even more of a bugger with the raised lower cowling….Perhaps taking the carb off will help…
          Be careful not to break any of those mounts or associated hardware if you must pull the powerhead/midsection of the transom clamp/swivel assy. But honestly, I don’t see how pulling it off is going to help….The darn lower cowl will still be in the way…
