      hello, i have a 1957 johnson 18hp. i would like to convert it to electric start. i have the bracket and flywheel and choke. will a starter from a 1961 40hp work with my bracket and if so is it a 12 volt

        Don’t think the 40hp starter will work on the 18hp, sorry
