January 29, 2016 at 2:52 pm #30992I am sure that I will be quickly corrected and I will be dragged behind an old mule and beaten with reeds! I do not think that it is a 1911 but a 1912. From my simple mind, I believe that the 1910 and 1911’s did not have any script on the exhaust manifold and the lower unit did not have an adjusting thrust screw on the front of the lower unit to adjust the gear lash. Also the numbers on the tag are evenly spaced across and on a straight line. All of the early Evinrude’s I have seen had one number stamped at a time and each one was not perfectly set across. Still, any skegless RBM is a find!
January 29, 2016 at 3:17 pm #30993What adds up to the $4500? Is it the nice oak stand? He states it is complete, but it is missing the water pump hose going from the lower unit to the powerhead’s water jacket. The top of the flywheel looks spray painted. For that type of money and ensuring that is it in good condition, I would prefer to deal with a club member. The club member would be able to give a better knowledge base condition of the motor and more reliability of motor not being a hodge podge motor.
Don’t get me wrong, I love seeing an oldie like that in good original shape and see it running as well. The oak stand is very nice too.

yep, more to come !
but most are already mentioned here
a reproduction tag, that’s for sure, so the # 2506 is also a fantasy and if it was not , then it should be a 1912
Price ? way over the top, MHO, I know the value increases more and more, but for this money you usually can expect a
(over) polished or restored example.
btw, I should be pleased if someone offered me half the price for my 1912 😉
