That’s a very early serial number. The first units manufactured had a F designation or no letter.
Also early units had the gas cap in the front.
Nice find.August 9, 2017 at 1:37 am #62699That carb is 1924 or ’25. That flywheel is 1926 or newer.
I think I may have accidentally deleted your previous post when I tried to reply to it, if that is possible. It disappeared when I tried to reply.August 9, 2017 at 11:39 am #62709It looks like the timer is missing and some type of home make ignition system installed.

Fortunately, my 1924 Ruddertwin has the earlier carb with the lever on top. I’m going to swap them. I think I’ve found the rest of the missing and incorrect parts. I have no idea what the timing lever is from or what they hoped to accomplish with it.

December 29, 2020 at 7:26 pm #226318Nearly three years later, but I’m finally nearing the finish line on this one. There were so many incorrect, missing and broken parts that it took time to source them all. So much low quality work had to be reversed. A few small things left to complete (new fuel line, flywheel key and drain screw). Otherwise, this early ELTO is fully restored mechanically. Cosmetically. I tried to do as little as possible. I wanted it to wear its age proudly. Afterall, this is not going to be a sawhorse queen. It will be back on the water this spring to celebrate it’s 100th birthday.

December 29, 2020 at 9:44 pm #226342Ha! I could have repaired the tank, but I like it as it is.
