Is it possible to remove and replace the spray nozzle? I have one that has snapped off. I have a spare carb body from an A35 model O with a good nozzle. Old service manual says it can be removed, but??? Has anyone attempted this or best to look for another carb?

I’ve never done it on a Johnson carb but I’ve done it on modern carbs. If I am correct, there are 2 holes on the side of the nozzle perpendicular to the air flow, that I’d assume need to be oriented as the original. The question then becomes, does the nozzle have some way to index its position when putting it in? Those holes may not be present on the A series, but I have seen them on the K series motors.

A "Boathouse Repair" is one thats done without having tools or the skills to do it properly.

Thanks Tubs! That is great info, just what I wanted to know. I am not sure my ability is up to the task and I don’t have a press that it says to use. Will have to give it some thought and maybe call in a favour or just look for another carb or body.

                I’ve had a few Early Johnson’s
                1- 1923, 2- 1924’s, 1- 1925 A-25 and
                an OA-65.
Never had an A-35 but isn’t the carb
                the same as the 1924-A?

No,the A35 and A45 have a different carb and don’t interchange with the A or A25,however the nozzles may be the same.
