How does the cork float for the carb attached to the pin/shaft in the bowl? I’ve tried to find a diagram but no luck. There is a cotter pin looking thing attached to the top of the float and a groove that on the pin/shaft that appears to be about the right height to somehow attach.

That cotter pin looking thing should have a loop shaped top. There should be a brass round headed wood screw that goes through that loop and screws into the float. The grove in the pin is at the correct location to set the float height.

Just slide the float down the shaft until the springs clip into the groove, that’s it.

Awesome, thanks. The spring clip and screw are intact but it appears I just need to pivot over a little so it engages the groove on the pin.
