      I have what I believe is a 1933 muncie.My question is did this motor come with a factory recoil. On the top of the fuel tank it looks like there are four screw holes where one may have been mounted. Thanks Russ…

        Here’s a link to a Muncie-Neptune website.
        I did a quick look and didn’t find anything but there is a section
        to contact the owners of the site.

          All the Muncie outboard specs I have show "Rope Starter" as start method. Other manufacturers (Evinrude – Johnson) show "Automatic Rewind" on there deluxe models. The Old Outboard Book shows the OB5 as a 1934 model. My Boating Industry Article lists it as a 1932 model. Boating Industry was a marine trade magazine that shows advertisements and articles to the marine industry. I saved the specification pages from the spring issue of 1949. – – – copied below;

          Model OB5 Neptune – built in 1932 – 2 cylinder 2 cycle outboard with a 2-1/16" bore and 1-½" stroke for a piston displacement of 10.02 cubic inches – It developed 5 Horse Power at 3,500 RPM – the two bladed prop has a diameter of 9" and pitch of 9" – The shear pin is a 5/32" diameter bronze rod 25/32" long – The gear case uses grease – The powerhead is lubricated by mixing ⅔ of a pint of non-detergent oil with each gallon of gasoline – the fuel tank holds 8 pints – run time is around an hour and ten minutes – The breaker points are set at 0.020" and the recommended 516 Champion spark Plug is gapped at 0.025" – The OB5 weighs 45 pounds – it is water cooled and Rope starter
          . . . . 😀
