I am restoring a 1936 Elto Handitwin when I got it in a box and have put it together. When I had the gear case apart I didn’t put grease in. I have been working on it for 3 years because of a health problem, now I am at the point where I need to do that . I can’t remember which screw would be the vent, I would like to get the right one first and not break the paint on anything that isn’t the one to take out.
      Thank in advance

I believe the slotted quarter inch pipe plug on the starboard side of the gear case is the fill hole, while the slotted screw on the port side is the vent. It is filled while laying on it’s side. . . 😉

The plug on the starboard side is there and marked Grease, but there is no plug on the port side? there must be a vent somewhere?

The vent screw didn’t start to show up till
1938. You could put a vent screw in yours.

A "Boathouse Repair" is one thats done without having tools or the skills to do it properly.
