      Hi There

I am living in Ireland and unfortunately i don’t have anyone with sound knowledge on some of the old outboards I have collected, I am lucky to have built up a considerable collection from the above mentioned to Anzani super single, gale buccaneer, folding lightwin , I have 2 issues firstly the sportsman requires a coil I can only get it to start occasionally by advancing it past fast ( so it literally runs full belt from the outset does anyone know of any alternative coil, secondly my 5hp Goodyear sea bee has a 6cm brass bushing to hold the drive shaft seal in place but I can’t remove it I have noticed most drawings show a short bushing with a spring but this model has the larger 6cm bushing, and I just can’t remove it nor can i locate the correct seal…. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Also on a lesser note the sportsman has there serial number 00128 would that mean it was the 128th model produced.

Can’t answer your question, but if it’s any help, here’s the parts list. Viking C2G7 is the same motor.

A "Boathouse Repair" is one that done without having tools or the skills to do it properly.
