I have a 1937 Waterwitch model 571.10 (twin tank version). The paint on the block and flywheel is rubbing off (silver) on to my hands.
It is still grungy from when found so the paint must be very old.
My question is: was this factory paint or was this painted by a former owner(s) some time past in it’s 80 year history.
Another way to say it is: Was this motor painted when it was manufactured?
      Thanks,
      Drifter

I believe the only parts painted are the
Cylinders. I believe the steel parts of the
transom clamp were zinc plated. The rest
is natural.I don’t have any documentation
to confirm this. Just a conclusion I have
come to from the motors I’ve seen over
        the Years.

A "Boathouse Repair" is one thats done without having tools or the skills to do it properly.
