I got my new project to run tonight.
      Good spark.
      Good compression.
But after the initial 30 second run and second real brief run I couldn’t get it to start again.
First question, should the brass part (rotory valve?) that is visible through the carb intake Move when the flywheel is turned?
      It doesn’t.
And, how does this carb work, other than the float/needle part?
      Any diagrams or photos?
What’s up with the brass screw at the bottom of the float bowl? There is small valve in it?
And finally, should the carb gasket have four holes (2 bolts, big one in middle and little one in the thin part)?
      Thank you
      Geer

the brass part separates the top and bottom crankcases – its a bearing – does not turn. you may be able to see the valves rotate above and below the plate. Will add more on the carb later.

Well hey. I got it to run again. I tried a different carb gasket, one without the small hole, as per what was there when I took it apart. That’s a relief about the bearing. I think I was still thinking about the kd or ks where you can see that valve spinning.
But yea, get back to me about the carb.
Even though it runs, I have no faith that things are buttoned down. And I still haven’t the slightest idea how gas gets into the throat.
          Thanks,
          G
