Bought a Handitwin today. Fairly complete and should be a runner.

Showed my wife pics of other similar motors on the web. We noticed some had red fuel tanks. Was this an option…is there a reason? Artistic license?

She likes the red tank. I’d prefer to make it orignal if I end up doing a full restoration. Besides…I have a ton of full aluminum paint.

      So…why the red tank?

      Thanks!

Nice little motor Greg, I guess your wife is not the only one who likes the " red " tank. But I agree with you, " Make it Original "

Some reaso. I’ve become a sucker for these little Eltos. Simple and so darned reliable.

I picked up an Ace at North Webster last fall…it push my wife and me 7 miles without a hiccup. Then I used it at the Last River Cruise in October…ran stellar.

See attached article under Elto Cub section. I believe it also applies to Handitwins also, silver was only stock color. I have seen many pictures of early Elto’s painted non stock colors, chromed, etc. and they look good. But the is also something to be said for OEM restoration. I guess it is a personal decision.

I suspected it was personal license.

              Dull aluminum it is.

              Thanks!
