I read on an old OMC manual that 1939 Johnson 5hp AT 39 should take a half pint of oil per gallon of gas. That would put it at 16:1, is that still the recommended ratio with TCW-3 2 Stroke Oil?

Yes. 16:1 is correct. That heavy oil mixture is part of the reason so many of them are still around running well. But the original primer pump leather seals only lasted about 20 years. For new Leather primer pump seals and complete instructions with diagrams on how to replace them: Send $10.00 cash (no checks or MO’s) and a SASE (Self Addressed Stamped Envelope) to me: Lloyd Lautner 9289 North Long Lake Road Traverse City Michigan 49685
