I have what I believe is a ’39 Muncie outboard. The flywheel is clear, big letters ‘Muncie’ and the model number is 2B39, serial # 9311D2.
Further oddity is that it has a square-ish wraparound tank with a center gas cap. The rear tank decale is scratched and extremely faded, but is was black with the last 5 letters that appear to read R O D L Y. The best I can read is F R _ _ N _ R O D L Y.
Can someone help me out and possibly steer me to a decale?

Here we go. These photos show it with the exhaust pipe removed. It also shows the rear of the tank.

That number computes to a 1939 Muncie 2 hp, and should have the rectangular tank, Decals are readily available online…

There is more than one option…. Posting a picture will help immensely..

I should also mention that the full model number 2B39X. The X at the end seems to have been put on using a different alphabet set. Is this possibly an experimental unit?

X, generally indicates factory refurbish…. but not always…
