I came home with an opposed cylinder 1940 Champion Play Boy Lite Twin, 5.5 hp,
and was wondering if anyone had any literature, i.e., parts manual, ads, etc.
for one? Thanks!Prepare to be boarded!

Haven’t had a chance to photo my
outboard haul the other day, but
will try today, and see if my Champ has
the "knob" or "lever" you mention.
Not sure why that called it "Lite"…..
heaviest one I brought home!Prepare to be boarded!
November 6, 2015 at 3:43 am #26626That photo is on the cover of early S2F-D2F parts manuals. Thats a good question on the Lite Twin name since the 1940 lineup already had another Lite Twin and no big twin. The other Lite Twin was smaller HP than the Playboy. Check the back center of your gas tank for a seldom-seen round green "CHAMPION" medallion. Some D1F & D2F motors had it.

Thanks for the manual!
HotRod, will check for the medallion but don’t think so.

and rubber grip.

November 6, 2015 at 10:32 pm #26679November 8, 2015 at 5:32 am #26758It looks like you need a cast aluminum tiller handle and carb knob for high speed adjustment. If your face plate is bent (common), it is best to unscrew the high speed needle completely before removing the face plate, since the plate will be caught on the entrapped needle. Plates are hard to get and should be straightened only enough as needed, in a controlled manner, not with a hammer or by hand. The carb knob (D1F188) is also found on the D1F model. It is a triangular shaped casting. Lucky to have the carb face plate and the rear medallion.
