Any one know where I can get a carb kit with a float?

You will have to make a float. Check home improvement and hardware stores. You want a cork in the natural form as apposed to compressed granules. Gasoline could dissolve the binder. Another option is the Mercury closed foam float (Mercury  number 1385-8983 – NAPA number 18-7208.). You will need to cut it down to fit as well.

A "Boathouse Repair" is one thats done without having tools or the skills to do it properly.

        Terry,

Do you have a parts list for that unit?   I do have some individual parts, to include a float, providing numbers match up.

Thanks to both of you!  I am restoring this unit for a young friend of my wife.  Looks like I will go with the NAPA part.  There was lots of “Crud” in the bowl.  Ed, is yours a NOS part?

You will also need new leather Primer Seals and instructions to install them. I am the guy that makes them. Send $10.00 sash and a self addressed Stamped Envelope to me; Lloyd Lautner 9289 North Long Lake Road, Traverse City Michigan 49685.

Parts are NOS, however not selling unless we have a part number match.  Give me your part numbers and I will sort and advise.

            Thanks Ed!

I will get you off a check ASAP.

This engine seems to run High RPM’s and Low RPMs without touching the speed lever. I am assuming it is leaking air past the seals.  The float seems to float when I tested it….

                Terry,

See my previous response.  I am not aware of a carb kit for that model.  Send me a list of part numbers you need and I will advise

Thanks to all of you that responded!!!!  Got the leather seals from Lloyde yesterday.  Will put the in tomorrow.  Took the recommendation from crosbyman and will seal the float with the SIG Dope.

                2 more questions:

                1. What should be the initial setting be or the highspeed jet?
                2. Where is the low speed jet?

                Terry
