August 25, 2025 at 9:58 pm #299259The cork seal was intact in this gear case but was no longer tight around the prop shaft. I just made, and added, a leather seal on top of the cork one. Here is a link with some tips on how I make gaskets. https://youtu.be/I0FrFA__n00?si=ON_CXt34_b2EvVql

September 2, 2025 at 12:00 pm #299571Thanks for the info!!!! I will try and make a leather seal. What thickness do you use? I will get some leather off Amazon. Also, would you suggest I TRY and replace the cork as well?
Thanks, Terry

I would be using all leather myself. I used 5-6 oz. but that is what worked for me.

September 16, 2025 at 5:11 pm #299916OK, I made a new leather gasket. Still leaks a drop or two. Maybe it will quit after it swells up. It’s MUCH better, Thanks!
Another issue, I now have a sever fuel leak out of the top of the carb. It is where the float pin is. Any suggestions? I did recoat the float as suggested by an earlier post. Is there a diagram some where so I can see if I put it together correctly?
