Does anyone know anywhere I can get some parts for my champion blue ribbon. It’s a 1946 I think. 4.2hp. I need a coil and really need a carb kit with a float. I’m looking to restore it. Thanks.

I just rebuilt a ’45 gale 3hp and could not find any vendor with carb kits prior to 1950. I ended up buying a cork float from Marshall’s Hardware for less than $2 and cut it with a knife to size. I cut my own gaskets from gasket paper. Used a punch set to make the holes in the gaskets. Found a washer/o-ring assortment case at Harbor Freight for $3 that had most of the stuff I needed and used dental floss wrapped around the needle and seated with washers for the packing. Made a new hard line from the tank to carb with standard copper line and compression fittings. Fired up on the 5th pull. No fuel leaks yet.

Thanks mvtoolman. I am probably going to have to do something like that as well. Hard to find parts. I have to find a coil somewhere. It’s not firing at all. The original coil is falling apart on my engine

Yeah, I may have guessed wrong on the coil. Sure would help if we knew what you are working on.

Hope you have a good head gasket on it. I can’t find one of those anywhere!

That’s the only numbers I can find on it.
