I’m putting back together an Evinrude 4416 and I noticed that when I adjust the carb needle to prime the motor, that arm depresses then slides past the valve stem. Because that valve is spring loaded, it pops back out and in doing so, blocks the arm from coming back.

Is there something I forgot to put on that stops the arm from going to far? I don’t have a parts manual for the motor to see if I missed something. Can you tells me what is wrong and how to fix it?

I attached a picture with the arrow showing the arm.

      Your thoughts?

A "Boathouse Repair" is one that done without having tools or the skills to do it properly.

Here’s a diagram, not sure it helps.

Thank you Buccaneer. With this I can make sure I put it together correctly. Looks like I did.

The arm is slightly misaligned, bending it a little will correct the problem. . . 😎
