      The internal parts are similar for all the Gale 1948-1950 1.5 HP manufactured motors (I have Hiawatha, Montgomery Ward , Viking and Goodyear Manuals).
      Frank R. last year shared with me the Evinrude Sportsman 4425 Manual and the OMC tower points and coil based on my reading are similar to Gale.

      All the little Gales were rope sheave start. They used alot of OMC parts not Phelon or Wico. Makes sense , they were an OMC subsidiary , private label manufacturer.
