So I have this Martin 60 outboard ready to be reassembled. I bought new gaskets from the Martin guy and think there are a few extras. The question here is that there are two head gaskets in the package. Do I use just one or do I need them both?
      TIA

One of them is for the head cover that seals the water jacket.

The two gaskets that seals the water jacket are entirely different.

Why don’t you ask the Martin guy you got
the gaskets from? When I had questions
Russ always responded by the next day.

A "Boathouse Repair" is one thats done without having tools or the skills to do it properly.

I’m willing to bet he’s confused about#9 and #12 in Buccaneer’s picture. That can be hard to tell apart until you study them.

First, thank you Buccaneer for the parts layout. I received two number 13’s and was wondering if two were needed for this motor. It was 11 PM when I was working on this motor. I thought maybe someone on this board would be knowledgeable about this old motor to give a good answer before I was able to contact Russ Larson. Not confused about what a head gasket is, just reaching out to other members for their input.

As of yesterday, this motor runs. It was a locked up freebie that I saw potential in. Not lake ready yet but soon as i get all the rest of the bugs out.
