      I was working on this Neptune and discovered what I thought was an excessive amount of play in the connecting rod/crankshaft. After taking the connecting rod off the crankshaft end, I was surprised to see that there was no bushing. I took pictures of the connecting rod and crankshaft for you to see.
      Did these motors not use bushings?
      Do these parts look excessively warn to you?

        believe here should be a bronze semi circular bushing cast into the aluminum connecting rod. The earlier models used all bronze connecting rods. The lighter aluminum rods increased RPM and power output. . . 😉

          So do you thing this rod and crank shaft are toast? If not, where can I get the bushings because that empty hole is the way it came off the crank?
