Does anybody know what the initial setting should be for the carb needle valve? 1.5 turns out doesn’t seem to be correct.

What I’m looking for is how many turns from fully seated should I open the fuel knob.

I’m going to stick my neck out and say that if it doesn’t start at 1 1/2 turns open, there is something else wrong.  Good compression?  Good fat blue spark at the plugs?  Does the choke work?  If you spray a little fuel into the carb, does it run for a few seconds?  Does it turn over freely with the spark plugs out?  Maybe a little more information will assist.

After reviewing a bunch of past posts it seems that centering the fuel knob at 3/4 of a turn from closed is the answer with the low speed (air shutter screw) set at 4 turns open initially. A weird carb for sure and it leaks when shut off if the fuel knob is not in the off position.
