I am working on two one is a 3hp the other is a 5 hp what material are th pins that holds the wobbler cam in place.

I am seeing a brass pin in the 5HP and a very small steel key in the 3HP Shouldn’t they both be 1/6″ brass? The wobbler cam has a square key way and the propshaft is flat Like a mark 20 or mark 25 water pump.

      Thanks Kayaker2

Just changed out my SeaKing 1955 wobbler. This unit is make by Gale.

It was surprised. My first wobbler. For some reason I thought that the tab was what went back and forth. This has the tab fixed. The 1955 is held in a fixed position by cast aluminum fittings. It seems that the pumping action comes from the rotation cam moving the disk in and out.

          First shot is old wobble.

The second is the new one. Only a alight difference.

Thanks Ron, I replaced all of them. Mine were a little worse than that. I used a round brass pin. hope it holds up.

            Thanks

Original was round stainless steel.  3/32″ if my memory is correct.

Pumping action on any wobbler pump is by the space that appears at the intake side and proceeds around to the output side as the rotor wobbles.  In other words, it takes a gulp of water on one side and moves it around to the output side where the space disappears, only to open up again for another gulp at intake.  The tab has nothing to do with it except to separate the intake and output sides.

That gasket was a pain I cut it before i put it on one of the three sea kings. But a good suggestion to trim it afterwards. maybe I will switch it out with stainless before I lake test pumps fine now with a Brian wicox, wobbler.
