Does anyone know where firing(ignition spark) @ TDC would be in relation to timing lever? Left of center, at start position on tank, or somewhere to the right? Thanks

The plugs fire when the points open.
Bring a piston up to TDC and move the mag from
the slow position till the point open for that cylinder.
Not familiar with that mag but this should be at the access
point where you set the points if they are set through a
hole in the flywheel. If you can see the points open with
the flywheel off that makes it somewhat easier.

A "Boathouse Repair" is one thats done without having tools or the skills to do it properly.

There is no hole in the flywheel. I marked the flywheel at TDC with relation to the front mounting hole for the recoil. When I crank it over with a timing light connected it seems that the lever is a quite a bit advanced (to the right) from the start position mark indicated on the tank. Is this considered normal?

It has been my experience that the high Start position of the magneto handle is usually around Top Dead Center. On Fast they fire 8 to 12 degrees before TDC. At the other extreme, (At a slow idle) the motor may fire just a few degrees before the exhaust ports open. . . 🙂
