I have a 1951 Voyager model 2VA 4 hp that starts easily and runs good up to about half throttle. After that it seems like it loads up and runs very rich. Adjusting the high speed jet has no affect on it. Ive not tried adjusting the low speed while its doing this. I have cleaned the carburetor and all seems to be in order in there. Any suggestions? Thanks everyone.
What is the mixture ratio on your motor? It should be 3/4 pint oil to the gallon. These are rotary valve motors with bronze crankshaft bushings. They rely on a heavier mixture to help seal the crankcase. If those bushings are worn, the engine will run lean. Recommended oil is 30 weight.
