      Already posted, maybe, can’t find my post.  Trying again. Apologize if I’m duping

      question is: what is the purpose of the “leaf valve”.   Not the leaf plate behind the carb.

      the leaf valve is depicted in the pics. The 3rd pic is a deconstruct from a parts motor I have. Same part tho.

        that is the  crankcase   one way out valve to push out crankcase  fuel oil residues    aka   purge valve

          rick this well explained in the johnson maint. manual  (RED BOOK)

          btw  some have  modified with a extra nipple and send the oily residues back to the pressure tank  air line using  check valves   or in  a on-board  reservoir  (tank) to collect   the oily stuff rather than dumping it out in the lake  via the exhaust
