      You can buy a sealer kit for motorcycles — it has an acid cleaner (phosphoric, I think) and slosh-to-cover sealer.

          If you use a sealer the tank still must be clean before you
          etch it and then add the sealer. When done properly
          they work well. I have used both Kreem and Red Coat
          but search YouTube for gas tank sealers failure.

          A "Boathouse Repair" is one thats done without having tools or the skills to do it properly.

            I was wondering how this design would work for shaking the beejesus out
            of a gas tank….. of course, it would have to be tweeked to mount different
            gas tanks instead of a paint can.
