      Haven’t been on here in a while. Picked up this motor with an original Johnson stand. My question is are the water pumps still available and what is part # so I can order from marineengine? Secondly, coils are shot. Am i correct to switch ones from a 55 Johnson 5.5 as they appear the same jIt aust to see if I can get it running. motor seems very strong and not abused. It also appears there should be an air intake that bolts up to carb. Anybody got one?

        Post a wanted ad here, members will be able to sell to you cheaper than marine engine.

          You can use a 277181 OMC or 18-3001 Sierra pump, but you will have to carefully thin it down on a sander. They are the same O.D. and I.D as the original, but a little thicker.

            That is good advice—for an Evinrude 7.5. But for the 5D10 Gale & Johnson TN models in question, use the 3hp-5.5hp impeller by enlarging the center hole to fit the shaft. Original part number was 375688

              Yes it takes the same ignition system as a bajillion other OMC motors. And there is nothing bolts to the carb intake. Those holes are there for another model.
