i picked up a seized 7.5 hp and am in the process of rebuilding it. i got it unseized and all the surfaces, etc., look good. i can’t find the
bypass cover gasket #202528. any help?

also, on a side note, i have been reading about an adapter to convert the 2 line feed into the modern 1 line feed gas tank. pros and cons? let me add that this will be going on my everyday 12 foot boat so “to the letter showroom restoration” is not important to me although i would prefer to keep it as close to factory new as i can.

      thanks,

      steve

just use the cover to pattern one out of gasket material

        conversions are easy to do

some use a bypass cover of more modern engines which have a place to mount a OMC square pump

another method which works fine is this video (plug one channel)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FtG4M7ye1N8 with this method I mounted the B&S pump on a triangular bracket bolted to the rear bracket

some will just put a small plate OVER the top (center drilled)_ bypass to mount a “lightly off-set” square pump.. it works fine also but don’t forget to block the air pressure nipple behind the carb. use a short piece1.5” of fuel hose with a big screw in in it. or small bolt secure with tyewraps.

and some would never modify a pressure system which are fine unless the tank leaks or looses pressure.

        up to you
