      Looking for the torque value for my 1955 Evinrude Fleetwin intake manifold. Thank you.

        Although I did not find it in my 10th edition Johnson Service manual, I did come across it in another publication. It shows 24 to 36 in lbs. Hope that helps.

          Thank you Dan. I have a Johnson torque chart that does not address the intake manifold. It does, however, call for 2-3 FT-LBS on the exhaust cover so that value makes sense.

            Waukegan 10th edition Johnson page 363

            talks of 2-3ft-lbs for the intake manifold on a 10hp same for a 5.5 and the 3hp 2-3 ft-lbs => 24-36 inch – lbs

            the 18hp 5-7ft-lbs which is 60-84inch-lbs

              Later model manuals (about 1980 up) have a list in the front that show a standard torque value for screw/bolt size. It is to be used whenever a torque is not spelled out in the section or application. Today’s engines use some special bolts/screws in certain applications that take certain procedures (Loctite, etc.) or torquing sequencing. Some require torquing (rubber mounts) letting relax and then torquing again. Exhaust cover bolts benefit from a drop of red loctite so heat expansion doesn’t loosen them in the long run. Just FYI.
