I am looking to rebuild the fuel pump for this 12HP Mont Ward motor. I don’t have a parts manual and was wondering if there is a kit for these or a whole pump? Do you have the part number? Also, are there any parts/service manuals for these motors?

      Thank you

Hunt, you do know that parts have not been made for that pump for over 50 years, don’t you?

No…didn’t know that. Like a lot of Johnson parts, since they were used for several years, I was hoping there were still parts/kits available. Maybe they didn’t use this pump a lot.

Then my next question would be, is there an aftermarket pump that will fit with little or no modifications?

As far as I know, the Sierra 18-7350 "square" fuel pump will fit in there. Lots of other options too, if you want to get creative. Like the Mikuni pump, or Briggs & Stratton. Here’s a Briggs pump that I installed, but it was a bit more than a "little" creative by the time I fabricated a mounting bracket. And it was a bit tricky getting the shroud on when I got done.

This was the pump they used back in the day . . . 🙄

They had so much trouble getting them back together they stopped listing the parts and recommended putting on a new pump . . . 😆
